Yeah, tell him to go outside and make friends. A 9 or 10 year old shouldn't be chatting online.

If it's good, the kid predators will know about it first. Tell you kid to go outside and play, or have his friends over.
But if you insist on the online chatting, I would recommend you getting a messenger, like Yahoo or MSN so he can chat with his friends only, not strangers. Always keep an eye on his friends' list.

My son is 9 but there is no way I'm letting him chat with stangers on the internet. You should rethink this. Put him in sports or something else like that. There is no telling who your child might end up talking to.

Keep in Mind Child Predators get in those rooms too. I think your best bet it to let him play games on yahoo hooligans. He can play games against others but Chat isnt available.

ur son might be like other kids who like to talk in person to their friends so find out what he likes to do and sign him up for clubs or u could try making friends with people who have kids around his age.my mom did the same thing and i have had my best friend for about 10 years now.but dont try too hard.

Don't put your son to chat with strangers they could be everyone
So, just learn him how to use Yahoo! Messenger or AOL or MSN Messenger or ICQ to talk only to his friends!

uh i wouldn't do that. just have him go to kids websites, like nick, or disney. things with activities, not chatting! there's a lot of freakes and pediphiles out there.

if you must have him on the internet then try AOL they have kids moderated chat and games like you cannot say where you live,curse or any of that happy crap try it you"ll like it
