Hi I am hoping someone has the answer I am looking for. I am 34 when I was about 12 my mom bought me this really next kit called the starting kit. She ordered it out of a magazine and in it was every brand name pad (I presume. There was about 6) From thick to pantyliners. All differnt brands. So you could try them and decided what works best for you. It was a bright and colorful box with no writing just decrative. It had to books (books but panflit style in regards to it being only minamul color & paperback) One book was all about the reproductive system with a glossary with easy to understand terms. The other book was tons of most comon questions a young lady might be curious about but uncomfertable to ask about. It had a little period calender as well. It was very pretty &informative and it felt speical & proud to be a lady. My mother always had open comunacation with me in regards to the birds & the bees. But these helped me for years. Any ideas how to get one? I know I can make 1

Wow I am getting great answers! Keep it up ladies & Guys! I am finding some great ideas! For the young lady that answered, ty for your imput. But my pre-teen loves our mom daughter talks. I hope it stays this way & she can always find me understanding. Give youre mom a shot at it. Talk to her. I bet you wont feel weird any more asking just about anything! (I checked some questions youve had and all of them are common questions for your age. You can get some great advice on these boards but you might get some bad advice too. Your mom is a great sorch of information. And you will have more fun w/ her if you have a super close relationship. Oh, and yea I know not all things you can ask or tell mom. But most you can. Give it a shot!

I also recommend getting a copy of the Endo Research Center's Girl Talk Kit, which contains info on painful periods - something some girls won't talk about because they think it's normal. You can get your copy for free. Visit http://www.endocenter.org/girltalk.htm to learn more and download your copy for free via http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ERCGirlTalk [free membership required, just ask for the Kit for your daughter].

On the on other hand to "girl"'s answer, I am a teenager, and I don't think that that would be the best idea. I would prolly feel unconfortable, and think my mom was weird, despite the fact that she went out of her way.

That's a great idea. You go for it, even if you have to put it together.

if you dont know where to buy one, id say just put one together yourself... i think it be even more special to your daughter if you made it yourself and didnt go out and buy one.
