Well I enjoyed it for (as someone else mentioned) its descriptions of France (Paris especially), and how it felt to be there when he was a young(ish) writer. It helps if you like his fiction writing, because this is a literary sort-of-autobiography, and so it's Hemingway's style applied to Hemingway's life. Not anywhere near being his greatest book, but it's a pleasant, fairly quick, read.

Yes, it is very nice. It also gives you glimpse of such people portraited in that book as Gertruda Stein and Scott Fitzgerald. Everyone who is interested in French and American art, would enjoy this book.

I'm reading it now. I love his description of France, where I want to go soon. I love Hemmingway and "For Whom The Bell Tolls".
