WHY oh WHY does our "justice" system do this to us? They even KNEW and SAID he was a 100% risk of RE-OFFENDING when they last released him (they must have assumed his next victim wouldn't be THEIR child).

They put Mr. Muckle away for possibly the rest of his life as a designated "dangerous offender" (he's the guy who beat a woman into a permanent coma in Banff). Why can't we do that with pedophiles?

I AM SO STEAMED I COULD JUST SCREAM AND CRY

I absolutely feel for you -- this type of situation goes on much too frequently to be acceptable. Unfortunately, without ACTION, there is probably nothing that can currently be done. The courts make the decisions, bad as we may think them to be, in what they feel are the necessary circumstances, for whatever reasons.

Instead of screaming and crying, try to find a more positive vent for your frustration. Find a group that is working to change the laws and make them stricter for repeat sex offenders (and even first timers). I'm sure they are out there! Volunteer your time and money and energy to help make this change possible, and maybe, in the future, this won't happen so often.

I don't know when the justice system in the U.S. will get the idea either. I don't know much about Canadian law. But a crime is still a crime in both places.

When you read about the children (women too) that are tortured, killed and God knows what else, they have all been in jail before for sexual offenses and been released.

I feel one offense is too many. I thought castration was the answer but I don't now. They would find something else to do to these poor souls that they capture and kill. I am in favor of shooting them in the middle of the street.

I don't care what anyone says. We need some strict laws that are enforced. Murderers getting out in fifteen years,......WHERE IS THE JUSTICE?????
If these animals were sincerely punished it might, just might be a lesson to others that they will pay for their crimes.

I think our system has become sissies when it comes to punishishing criminals because "someone" has a cause out there that is going to raise hell and cause a stir of some kind.

We don't need jurys made up of "our peers" EXCEPT on very minor violations. They should set up a system such as if you abuse or sexually assault anyone, you are shot. If you kill someone in cold blood, you are shot.......This might sound extreme but it would sure as hell cut crime down to nothing.

There is something that can be done and our society, government and all the rest just sit there and shake their heads.
When they need to get out there and shake these criminals to their death.............................And YES (to the people) that tell me I would feel differently if it was my brother or son that commited the crime. YES! I feel no matter who it is, shoot them.

WHY support these people on death row? Look at the young ones like Scott Peterson. He will cost us so much money by the time he dies that you could have applied that money to the damn national debt. Speaking of which, NOW the goofy JUROR from his trial with the awful RED hair is writing him in prison. They are pen pals.....That is certainly a vote in favor of jurys.

I'm pretty upset about this too. My heart goes out to the parents of the boys. This monster should have been locked away a long time ago and never allowed to see the light of day again. It's sad when the "rights" of criminals take precedence over the rights of our children and communities in general.

There is no way to rehabilitate these animals, well, not without using a gun and a magazine full of bullets that is. The judge who okayed his release needs to be removed, maybe prosecuted...
