For example: Seinfeld is definetely funny because of the actors (the stories are just plain silly) And in friends, the funny thing is the writing (phrases, situations, etc.) What do you think

Probably Writers. There are tons of people who can act. Not so many people can write well and make funny lines. Plus a script has to be unique.

I think for a sitcom it would be the writers because some of the actors on sitcoms are just not funny and need all of the help they can get.

The writers are more important. You can have the best actors in the world in a sitcom, but if the script sucks, then the show will suck.

the actor(s) because even with the funniest/whatever writing, if the actor can't pull it off then noone wants to watch it... example... Joey, Freddie Prinze Jr.'s show, etc....
