Contact the police. When a car is impounded, the police are notified so that the car does not end up reported stolen. They will have a record of the impound, and can tell you where the vehicle is stored.
If the police have no record of the impound, report the car stolen!!

you call the police department and they will tell you were it was impounded or city hall. They charge you every day that it is there the sooner you get it out the cheaper it will be. Trust me we own an impound in michigan. Good luck

most likely the police runs the impound lot cause where i am the police is so small they hand it off to a outside agency so if you call general information for your city then ask for the police impound lot and they should give you an address

Most cities have a designated impound lot or lots; call the City Hall to find out what you have to do to retrieve your vehicle.

Call the Police Department and they'll be able to tell you where it is impounded. Otherwise, get out of the phone book and look up every wrecker company in norfolk, call them, and ask them if your vehicle is there.

At the impound lot.
Call the towing company that towed your car. If you parked in a no-parking zone, the sign should have a number to call.

Start calling towing places. If that city is good sized, maybe the cops have their own impound.

If they have reason to believe you're doing criminal behaviour, then yes. Really, Popeye? So if your car was showing up as uninsured on the police database, and you said "don't worry mate, it's insured", do you reckon they'll take your word for it? No. They will search your car even if you say there's nothing illegal in there. That's how it works - they ask you if there's anything illegal in there, if you say no, they will still check. If you say yes and show them, they will still check. They don't take risks these days. This is 2012, not the 1970s.
