I have 4 children. I breastfed each of them. I did not have a period while nursing the oldest 3. My youngest, I nursed until she was 14 months when she self-weaned. With her, I started getting a period when she was about 1 year old. Yes, it is normal not to have a period while breastfeeding.

It's completely normal. You may eventually get a cycle while breastfeeding but it's rare. Use methods of birth control b/c you can get pregnant while nursing. When you stop nursing you will return to normal after a month or 2. Good Luck!
