this year sales are until 31 august... but sales started first day of July so i don't know what you could find... good things are gone..

no. usually not travel sales.
If you mean "shopping", yes, from Aug 15 till the end of the month.
About travelling in Italy... I REALLY suggest to go at the end of September.
It's too hot there now... and too crowded...
and most of the buildings are too old to have air condition.
So...
September is much better... even October.

just back from sorrento,every shop window had saldi ,saldi ,saldi.so i'd guess all the good things would be away by now!
