Unless they're speed swimmers, I can't speak for leg-shaving. And unless they're actors or rock stars or have some sort of skin condition, I don't know about wearing make-up, either. But earrings?
It's only in recent times that men wearing earrings has been any cause for comment.
The practice began in many cultures many thousands of years ago and in many cases continues today.
In the western world, sailors (yes, including "pirates") wore earrings of gold or silver for a very pragmatic reason: those rings were to be used by whomever found their lifeless body washed ashore to pay for a decent burial.
I wear a small, silver hoop in each ear. And I'll be my left, unshaved leg I've had more and better sex with more and better women than all the gay-bashers who've answered this question thus far (AND the one who asked it).
Then again, if I lost that bet, I'd get to wear a peg leg!
ARRrrgh!!! AVAST!
PS: are tattoos okay? 'Cause I've got some of them, too. And I STILL don't fu*k guys. And have you considered the likelihood that men who DON'T sport earrings are just pu$sies who faint at the mere thought of a fat, surgical steel needle coming at their heads?
Think about it...

Ah, we are back to the Homosexuals are the cause of everything you don't like in life....are you as small as you sound? I find it amusing that whatever Gays do today, and get blasted for, 4-5 years later, Straights take on the fashion, ear rings and all. I suppose it is a matter of choice after all. Gays are the most flattered group by straights I have found. Straights want to be like gays, it just takes them about 5 years to work up the nerve. Manyly things???you mean, as in sucking on a beer bottle from dawn to dusk??? yes, very manyl. Driving rusted out pickup trucks loaded with fat wives and fat children...yes, very manly. You mean like plopping down on the couch when you walk in the door and not leaving until you pass out in a drunken stupor...yes, very manly. OH, I do so wish I were straight..what I life I could lead. Leave the"Possible explanations" to someone who has a brain...you stick with the beer.

I hope you're not assuming every man who wears an earring also shaves his legs and wears make-up. That's stereotyping, I thought we, as a society, were trying to get away from that.
I personally know many men who wear an earring and most certainly DO NOT shave their legs or wear make-up.
Some guys (jocks) like to shave their chests and legs so when they go to the beach (they think) all the girls will oooooh & ahhhh at thier oh-so-toned body. *yawn*
As for the make-up, well I think guys who do that are few and far between, but you've lumped them all together in one group.
Men should be able to wear jewerly if they want, why would it only be for women?
Did you know many many years ago men used to wear skirts?
Look at pics/drawings of the Romans in Ceaser's day. They weren't mocked then but if they did it today, people like you would say "oh, that's wrong because I never heard of it, they must be gay"
Stop stereotyping!!

Well i respect your point of view but men wear ear rings and copy women as they copy men by wearing shirts pants ect.
As far as shaving is concerned, i shave beacuse i am a body builder i do body shows so my body would not look good with hair on it right.
And about the make up that remais suspense for me also

I think it might possibly be because so many women have been doing what used to be considered "men" things and wearing what used to be considered "men" clothing, so now (I think) that a lot of guys are doing the reverse roll. I THINK it's because - since women have been moving into men's areas of clothing and acting, that men are fighting back and moving into areas of clothing and stuff that were once typically for women only, kinda like fighting back, or "getting even", or something silly like that.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
why you might say ah?
A poem written about the gays....
why do men do those things you say......
ide definatly say they were gay
but i might have to pay.
many will shave there legs.
and walk kind of weird in a way.
no one will ever no unless we asked a gay.
does he shave his legs
and walk a certain way?
so I ponder the fact...
about all the gays.
Do they want women.?
then why are gay?
explanation...
never to say....
they are gay
because they want to be gay.
We all are free to chose are own way.
to have lots of babbies.
To be straigt our gay.
would I be a good judge of why they are gay.
Why they chose makeup over a babe.
No one will know except the savoir himself.
So why do I wonder I ask myself
Is my goal in life to cast a stone
or try to love them so there not alone.

Obviously "3"
The women that I have asked don't like guys with earrings & make-up, so it does not appear to be hertosexuals that are leading this trend.
Shaving body hair used to be a halmark of competative swimmers only. For some reason shaving your chest & legs is becoming hip (maybe Holliwood had something to do with this?).

It's called cross-dressing, and it's a sexual fetish. Has nothing to do with being gay - most cross dressers are straight.
Personally, I'm not into it. I prefer very masculine-type men. But there's nothing wrong with it, just like there's nothing wrong with any fetish that stays between consenting adults. People are just turned on by different things, that's all. Some men like sucking on women's toes. Some guys get off on looking at high heels. Hey, whatever floats your boat. ;-)

earrings are not only for women in the us. the type of earring does vary according to sex however. as far as make up, on a day to basis guys do not wear it. if they are ina band or something they do for theatrics. shaving legs is poplular with atheletes for what reason i am not sure. black nail polish on a rocker/goth is acceptable.

Are you talking about metrosexuals? I am bisexual and I don't do those things and I am not attracted to men who do either. If I want a woman I will be with my wife. If I want a man then I want a man not a man trying to be a woman. That kinda freaks me out a little.
