For high Qual PCs out the door, Dell.

Down the road, though, should you need upgrade/replacement parts (& all ownners do) it'll HAVE to be Dell. Notice w/ Dell that you'll get a small base HD, little RAM, small monitor? You can get more, but it will kick the initial price up.

Get a machine w/ parts that are available OTC. Couldn't afford a Sony, but suspect is OK. h/p - NOT COMPAQ - has universal parts.

Toshiba by far, the most practical, lightweight,elementary controls make it a pleasure to use. The price is right.
