don't bother with expedia or any other travel site. all they do is give you to lowest published fairs from the airline then charge you $5 more. check the airline websites. the cheapest i've seen is southwest but you might be able to find cheaper on a different airline depending on where you're flying from.
expedia, et al, can be good just to get a ballpark figure of what you can expect to pay. but they don't seem to publish southwest or jetblue. both are discount airlines that often undercut all the other airlines.

None of the sites like travelocity, expedia, kayak, etc. even list Southwest. They may be running a special from where you live.
...you usually have to book 3 weeks in advance.

Put in to/from areas and no dates , it will tell you which airline has the absolute lowest fare that month.

www.sidestep.com is the bestest!!! it will search all the websites for the cheapest and on orbitz.com i think you can specify a month and it will tell you the cheaper days to go.
