Companys who provide search engines have adds to pay for the service so you can search for free. If you can find a search engine you have to pay to use, I bet there would be no adds.

not on any free search engine i know of--advertisers pay for free websites/search engines

that would be dreamy.

so far i've not run into that.

even google.com has them but they're text, which doesn't bother me all that much.
