unless she can provide four "pious men" who will testify they saw her raped? If they were that pious, why would they stand by and let her be raped? This is the "law" the combined mass murdering Islamiam groups want to put the whole world under. Fun, huh?

Yes. Old traditions die hard. Ignorance is rampant.

You mean Shiite law, right? Every religion has its excessive laws, and every culture has groups that practice religion literally.

We have people in the US that follow certain teachings of Christianity that refuse to accept medical help, and let people die if God doesn't choose to heal them. We have people who kill doctors in the name of the commandment "Thou Shalt Not Murder".

We have people who take multiple wives, including children barely into puberty, because their holy book tells them that's OK. And abandon or kill the male children, so there is less competition for the females.

We have people on this board who think any sex offender should be castrated. And we have laws on the books right now in some states that allow a husband to divorce his wife for cause (so she loses everything, including rights to her children) if he can show she had the OPPORTUNITY to commit adultery (without having to show she actually did).

And let's not forget either the Inquisition or the Crusades. Entire villages tortured and killed in the name of religious purity. Women burned alive because they had a birth mark (considered the mark of the devil). And on and on and on.

Islam is about 500 years younger than Christianity. Look at what Christianity was doing to its people about 500 to 1000 years ago, and you'd be just as horrified.

The hope is that as people across the world will mature, and begin to realize that hatred and killing are generally not the solution to anything.

That's horrible. I'd just find a way to kill the man that raped me if the law didn't do anything about it.
