well in a way it is sometimes called that ,,but yes there is a fuel injection unit that looks like a carburetor,,and it is called a throttle body..it has 2 injectors in it,,and most people do confuse them with carburetor,s,,but they are different as day,,and night are,,they are still fuel injection,,and function the same way as all other fuel injection units do,,i hope this help,s you some.

NO, a throttle body injector means there is only 1 injector instead of the car having an injector for each cylinder (multiport injectors). A carburetor is a carburetor, typically you only have one, but some cars have 2 and can have an individual carb for each cylinder. Nobody would use the nomenclature of "throttle body carburetor"

A carb, by definition, could be described as a "throttle body carb". A throttle body injector is simply a fuel injector that is installed in the same housing as the throttle plate.
