It's calcium... take the fish out and transfer to a temp tank, clean the tank with a calcium/lime away kind of cleaner, MAKE SURE you rinse the tank several times to get all the cleaner out... refill, let set and add fish. Make sure temp bowl water temp and tank temp are with a few degrees of each other

If your tank is acrylic and not glass, do not use a razor blade, as this WILL scratch the acrylic.

If the white is wrong hard water deposits (usually lime and calcium), you can get an aquarium safe remover for that. Hang on - I'll go look it up.

It's by Jungle, and it's called Lime-Off. From what other people have said, it's a very good product (better than the bleach I used in my first tank, anyway). See the source link if you're not opposed to buying stuff online, or see if you can find it at your local pet store.

Good luck!

The white stain if from hard water. If you are still keeping fish in the tank, go to your local pet store and get a spray cleaner that is safe for the fish. Every good fish store will have some brand of spray cleaner that will remove the stains and not hurt the fish. I usually get mine at Pet Smart. Sorry can't remember the name of the cleaner I just used it all up and threw the bottle away. If you are done using the tank, clean it with vinegar and baking soda.

You can buy a razor glass scrapers that are designed to remove paint drips from windows. They will not scratch your aquarium and will work well (just be careful not to go too close to the seams). They are available in paint departments and dollar stores and I use them to remove coralline algae from my slat water tank weekly.

DONT USE CHEMICAL CLEANERS!!!!

There is always a chance you can leave residue from them on your tank and you could poison your fish.

Try using a razor blade and scrape it off the glass careful not to cut the silicone. ( I have before you can buy a tube of it from walmart ifyou need to reseal)

Probably hard water stains. You'll have to clean it with something to get rid of the stain first, and then wash it and fill it with only soft water (like bottled water).
