Go to your department of social services, they will go to bat for you. If you have already then take him to court, DSS will also do that for you.

Where do you begin? (re: child support).
THE worst place to try is at the courts. The minute you invite the courts in, everyone else begins to take over your life and your time and your child.
The courts could order you for psych exams, and could order you to give certain visitation, and once in the courts you usually can't leave the state with your child --due to custody agreements.
Once you have custody agreements your EX has power over you and most likely, if he is typical he won't pay child support anyway.
YES, the professionals are quick to say "go to court and file for support" because they NEED to say that because once you file for support or welfare, their organization can SOMETIMES get money by serving you .
On the other hand, most women who have been through the courts with husbands who have no jobs or low paying jobs, most of them would advise you to stay clear of the courts.
When the courts are helpful is if the husband has a Great job or own business with GOOD and findable assets . If he has millions , then heck, go for child support.
If your ex is a drug addict or if he has a current criminal record or warrants out, then what kind of financial support do you think you can get by going to courts?
THE BEST WAY to get support for your children is IF the guy is reasonable, type up a budget with the children's things on it..and give it to the guy and tell hiim you need that money for his child.
If the guy is reasonable, and normal then he will pay the money.
Court orders and child support orders only work with reasonable men who have good jobs or lots of money in savings. And, these re usually not the types that women are divorcing .
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU CAN REMEMBER IN THIS ISSUE IS THIS:
LISTEN TO YOUR OWN INNER INSTINCT!!!!
No matter what any professional tells you to do or not do, listen to your own inner instinct, your gut feeling.
YOUR gut feeling is usually right on target and correct for your situation. AS long as your listening to your gut instinct does not hurt or harm anyone, then your gut instinct is the BEST advice y ou can get from anyone.
PLEASE, please please, listen to yourself. Get feedback but in the end listen to yourself! Ask God for guidance. You will do okay.
