To Koo Koo and David F - you are nuts. If you haven't experienced the Europeans, Asians and others from everywhere else in the world, you must live in Moosebreath Idaho. Go to any mid-size city and you will see foreigners from everywhere - the two of you need to open your eyes. The written DMV test in California used to be in more than 200 languages. Or, go to a moderate sized university - tons of foreigners. So before you start thinking America sucks because "foreigners" don't want to live here, get out and see some of the country. I don't think the two of you are Americans, because you really do sound ignorant.

the countries that we are arguing with about government have their own ideas about how they think things should be run, sometimes it begins with something like communism, which is based off of the idea that people need to have the same amount of everything along with putting forth the effort to work for the common good of the country. The difference between the societies is that communism discourages private ownership of business, and that ends up not working very well. Russia folded in that way, China may still be communist, but they allow private ownership of companies, and North Viet Nam is a bustling metropolis compared to when we were over there fighting against communism and oppression. Capitalism works because there is personal gain from the work that you do; the harder you work, the more you have or the better off you are, in most cases. Coutries don't like to be told what to do, but a lot of them end up in the same situation over time because we have a global economy, pretty much. All countries depend on other countries for some type of goods they purchase, and then they get to see the affects of private ownership in other countries.

Not at all. I don't think you understand why people (including me) despise the USA.

It's not about wealth and power or lavish living. It's about ABUSE of power. The CIA has been out of control for decades. They have their own agenda that goes far beyound their government mandate. They not only spy, but they assasinate, subvert, overthrow, torture and other nasty, unamerican things.

Why do you think there is a terrorist problem? It's because of our abuse of power. If all we did was help other countries openly, then there would not be so much hate against us. We seem to think that might makes right. And because we are "Christians" on the whole, whatever we do is blessed by god. What a load our president shovels out.

Do you REALLY believe people hate y'all for your blue jeans and suvs. could it be your interfering gov'ment who remove democratically elected leaders and put in place people like Augusto Pinochet? Get a Life. I don't hate America, but y'all need to learn of your foreign policy b'fo you start making silly statements like that. Also, it sounds like your assuming that people from one nation ALL think alike. Just 'cause Osama hate you, doesn't mean all Sunni Islamics do.

Countries are like people, you like them for certain things and dislike them for certain things.

LEARN more about your country's impact on the world and don't just listen to your history teachers. Anything can be skewed by man.

If they despise it, they don't come here. I don't see any Europeans/Canadians flocking to come into the US.
