It depends on what you did when you got the prescription for the pill. After using no previous contraception and taking the morning after pill the usual advice is to wait for your next period ( using barrier methods in the meantime or abstaining). If you start taking the pill on the first day of your next bleed it will cover you straight away. If you started taking it as soon as your prescription was issued and immediately after you had taken the morning after pill then the rule is the same as if you start it in the middle of your cycle without previous contraception i.e. start taking it but use extra contraception for 14 days. I suspect that is what you did. Your body doesn't know what to do because the high dose of progesterone in the morning after pill has worn off. A fall in progesterone levels is the normal signal for the womb to bleed so that is what has happened. However because it is not a proper period but only a fall in progesterone because the morning after pill is wearing off it will only be a slight bleed. Furthermore as the morning after pill only works for one exposure and only retrospectively then you have no contraceptive cover now and if you have unprotected sex before your next proper period, which should occur whenyou would normally have expected it to, then you could still get pregnant this cycle even though the morning after pill you have already taken has done its job. If the above is the true situation then if you have had unprotected sex since taking the morning after pill in spite of taking the proper pill you will not be covered and will need another dose of the morning after pill and do not have unprotected sex again until you start the proper pill on the first day of your next proper period. After that you'll be ok. If you have not had unprotected sex since you took the morning after pill then if you have already started the proper pill wait till you have been on it 14 days before you rely on it. If you have not already started the proper pill wait until the first day of your next cycle, start it on the first day of your bleed and you will be covered straight away. If you have had unprotected sex relying on having started the proper pill already and it was more than 72 hours ago then it is too late for another dose of the morning after pill and you may have got pregnant in spite of all your best efforts. Good Luck!

I had the same situation happen to me. The morning after pill basically causes you to miscarry anything concieved within 72 hours. This often causes bleeding, it is different for every woman. My suggestion is to do a sunday start on your pills this sunday and wait an entire month before you have unprotected sex. if you continnue to bleed after this week then go see your doctor, the pill may have done some damage. when you start the pill it is verly likely that you will screw up your cycle but it will reset itself based on the day you took your pill. so as long as you dont have any unprotected sex do not be worried about your period being late.

Wait until your due your proper period.
Im not sure the morning after pill is supposed to cause some bleeding, I would book an appointement with the doc just to be sure it could be an STI.
Don't be scared a little bit of bleeding can happen for no reason and at any time, although I would be sure to use a condom in the future aswell because you are still at risk of STI's.

it sounds like you're experiencing breakthrough bleeding, which is extremely common and nothing to worry about! The morning after pill is a high-dose birth control pill, and normal BC pills can also cause breakthrough bleeding. When I started taking BC pills, I had my period for 27 days! It finally went away after I got through my first pack.
You can get tons more info on the pill on iVillage's website http://health.ivillage.com/gyno/gynobc/topics/0,,4v33,00.html and of course, if you have medical questions, your doctor is the best person to ask.

I would also go to the doc and see if you may have a sexually transmitted disease!
Having unprotected sex these days is like plyaing Russian Roulette with a 45 caliber pistol!!
And the morning after pill, isnt the answer!
Try having sex only with the man you want to marry, AFTER your married...
(No, I am not trying to preach on this, but, start having better sense, so that you dont regret some day, the "gift" that keeps on giving! Sexually transmitted diseases are no fun, and some will actually KILL YOU!
I wish you well..

Probably the large dose of homones has messed up your periods. I would suggest you go ahead and start the pill now, because you may not have an August period.

Take BC on the first day of your period. And take it everyday at the same time.
As for the spotting, it's maybe from the side effects or worse case senerio, you're pregnant.

in case you opt to initiate, merely ask your mothers and dads approximately it and notice what they think of, yet taking the tablet would desire to have not have been given any effect on your weight. It truly relies upon on how frequently you're taking it, and how your physique works as to how efficient it will be. =)
