I was wondering if there were any laws that seem stupid or outdated. Any laws in New York City or state would be more helpful.

There are cities in the USA, where laws established upon the event of the horseless carriage are still on the books.
Like, no more than 2 horseless carriages may be in town at the same time. As they proceed through the town, a man with a red flag is to walk ahead of it, and at night a man with a red lantern.
If any lifestock is encountered (horses, cows etc) the contraption is to be put into the next alley and covered up in order to prevent spooking the animals.
Almost sounds religious in its severity ;-)

NEW YORK DUMB LAWS

Women may go topless in public, providing it is not being used as a business.

You may not smoke within 100 feet of the entrance to a public building.

It is illegal for a woman to be on the street wearing "body hugging clothing.Citizens may not greet each other by "putting one's thumb to the nose and wiggling the fingers".

A fine of $25 can be levied for flirting.

It is against the law to throw a ball at someone's head for fun.

The penalty for jumping off a building is death.

New Yorkers cannot dissolve a marriage for irreconcilable differences, unless they both agree to it.

A person may not walk around on Sundays with an ice cream cone in his/her pocket.

While riding in an elevator, one must talk to no one, and fold his hands while looking toward the door.

Slippers are not to be worn after 10:00 P

I've got a good one - I've heard that Maryland has a law on the books that makes it illegal to have intercourse in any position other than missionary! Can't prove it, but even if it's not true, that's a heck of a whacky law!
