This is one of those deal’s that are good (not great) for both teams. Cubs really don't have any infield help (Neifi Perez sucks!), and the dodgers have too many players in the infield.
Izturis isn't an amazing talent, but it is an upgrade. Cubs killed two birds with one stone... they did the right thing in letting Maddux play out what is likely his last season with a contending team (not saying the Dodgers have much of a chance, but much better than the Cubbies), and they get a young short-stop who can play in this league.

Great deal for the Cubs, if Izturis can be the player he should be, the Cubs will be better off in a couple of years when Maddux is retired. It helps the Dodgers now especially with their acquisition of Lugo.

The cubs got ripped off. Izturis is coming of tommy john surgery and cannot hit. Maddux still has a few good starts in him.

I think its a move for just the next couple of months because the Dodgers have a shot at the division and the Wildcard.

It's not going to matter too much. The Dodgers are the 4th best team in the West, which isn't saying much. Great pitcher, but he is out of gas.

I think I have a little more respect for the dodgers management now that they executed such a steal perfectly.
I also think the cubs are that much dumber for agreeing to such a rip off trade from their point of view.
I mean look who they got for maddux.
clearly not worth it.

it is a good deal. He can help them but the Past can hurt him. Every 300 Winner has lost more then theve won after getting traded mid season

The way I see it is that it cant hurt them too much. Im sure he'll have his share of good starts as well as bad starts too.
