You must realize that in the UK, crime is reported very sneakily. I had a mate that was a PC and apparently there is a shooting nearly every night. However the police are v good at covering statistics in a way that makes it seem as if crime was dropping.

I think guns are much more common in the UK than the public want to admit, but we have to remember that law abiding citizens don't tend to carry guns...its the people who aren't interested in following the law, which if you look at the children in the UK, there are an awful lot of.

Yeah... I'm in south London, near Brixton. It's getting very silly indeed. It doesn't make the local papers anymore because it happens so often. I don't really know why it's kicked off like this. A lot of the victims are perfectly innocent and not involved in anything. In other instances, the victim will have inadvertantly annoyed some psycho without even knowing it, and then this psycho will drive around until they see them and shoot them.

It's very bad. It's because kids don't have any respect for anyone other than themselves anymore. It's going to get worse before it gets better. This current crop of 15/16 year olds don't seem to care about anything. Guns are nothing unusual to them. It's quite scary.

Guns have become easy to get hold of, I would think they are smuggled in.

Funny how what happens to America come here to the UK. Our government get warned it will come and do nothing. We are not used to guns here, we don't want them and I think the courts need to give very stiff sentences to those found with them.

This country is going to pot (hey man), seriously our police need more help. They spend hours filling out forms, some courts give such silly sentences that our police feel they're wasting their time even bothering to arrest people. Our system is screwed, gone to pot, gone to the dogs, carput.

Funny since if you are a member of a gun club you can no longer legally own a gun.... a law passed by the UK after Dunblane... to prevent.... gun crime!

To deter gun crime, sentencing needs to be tougher, and maybe the death penalty for gun crime needs to be re-introduced.

It's not the number of guns that are the problem it's who has them. Your gun control laws have failed. Criminals know their victims won't be armed and so they have the advantage. Disarming victims does not lower crime and sadly now you're experiencing that first-hand. Sorry mate but you crazy brits dug your own hole.

Because European and Caribbean criminals carry guns and are allowed into this country by this government to cause instability so that they can bring in ID cards.
