Mine was also Poltergeist! I was about three years old and I wanted to stay up late with my mom. I totally regretted it later on because I had to sleep with my mom for the next month and a half! I couldn't even get up and go to the bathroom after that. I am still scared when i watch that movie today.

I think mine might have been poltergeist 2, for some reason. Either that or Nightmare on Elm St 3 or 4. It was a sequel from the late 80s, I know that much.

When I was a kid I used to love watching the Hammer Horror shows when my folks went out so I had the house to my self, but the one film that really got me when young was seeing Alien for the first time! Quite a shocker at 11 (1978)

"Killer Clowns From Outer Space" was the first one I remember seeing.

Basically, Alien Clowns land their spaceship in farmland in middle-America and near a small town. Disguised as a normal travelling-circus, they attack.

Now, the fun begins with their laser-guns which trap people in giant balls of Candy-Floss. The helpless victim is still alive as the Clowns goes back to the spaceship, and through a giant straw, drinks the victim's blood.

The only way to kill one of these Killer Clowns was to destroy their nose. How? Well, the Sheriff used his Sherif Badge to burst a Clown's nose like a ballon.

If I saw it now, I laugh a the stupidity of it all :-)
But at the time I was only seven or eight years-old.

Although I never developed a fear of Clowns, I still have a fear of the dark :-(

Yeah mine was X-tro too like the first answer, I still remember the woman giving birth to some weird thing, probably an X-tro.

Scariest film was defiantly either The Exorcist or Evil Dead.

The Feind Without A Face, The Original Body Snatchers, House on Haunted Hill. We're talking a long, long time ago, but as you can see, they left a lasting impression.
