I like to think it is natures way of weeding out the weak.
I know that sounds harsh, but take it from someone who lost a baby at almost 5 months. They could not tell me why. I had a perfectly healthy and uncomplicated pregnancy only 2 year earlier. Maybe my child would have been ill or miserable his whole life, and maybe "someone" (although i am not religious) knew I could not handle it or my son was given mercy and not dammed to a life of suffering.
Maybe it is environmental, but with today's medical technology, healthy birth rates are much better than in the past.
No matter what it is it does not seem fair. i have said it before and I will say it again, How can there be so many crack babies and babies born with all kinds of conditions because their mother was not smart or responsible enough to take care of herself for her child's sake, yet my son was taken from me, a mother who will not even ingest caffeine during pregnancy?

There are a lot of factors that could contribute to a miscarriage. Environmental, diet, stress, etc. Typically, the most common factor causing a miscarriage is a chromosomal birth defect. It's your bodies natural defense against abnormalities. Often, these abnormalities go unchecked and you end up with a child who is severely and profoundly handicapped. It's not uncommon for women to miscarry there very first pregnancy and not realize they were ever pregnant. Spontaneous abortions usually happen within the first few weeks of pregnancy, before the woman notices a change in her body. Miscarriages that happen late in the pregnancy can be contributed to the mothers health, environment, or emotional state.

I'm not too sure but I know they do say it's estimated that a woman will have 2-3 miscarriages and not even know it. Perhaps because pregnancy is such a delicate state. If those babies were meant to be then they would be. I've heard that if there is even the slightest problem that the body will terminate the pregnancy. Although there are some pregnancies that have lots of problems and don't miscarry..but who knows. It is a lot I think and it's bizarre.

miscarrigages have been along for a long time...even though there a different situations now then there was 100 years ago...alot to do with drug and substance abuse... some are caused by women just not knowing also some are cause by the meds taken or even if the womens body isnt stable enought to carry a baby. Theres alot of women that get pregnant and have a miscarriage and dont even know it...Also women who have had miscarriages can have a healthy pregnancy afterwards and not have any other problems with later pregnancys

It's not easy to answer, there can be a lot of factors which affects that there are miscarriages.
Probably mainly from medical related reasons or from the stress women can have miscarriages.
I just guess, I don't know much about this topic as I am young.

Now and days woman are living more stressful life’s. They have to work take of a home and children.
Back in the day most woman have to take care of there Home and children. Women ate everything they would like with without watching there weight so there bodies were stronger. Now women are so worried about there weight. When pregnant they don’t eat because there scared to getting fat. Bodies don't have the Vitamins nourish the fetus and that's why miscarriage happen.

Feb. 21, 2006 -- During early pregnancy, miscarriage may be more likely among women with high levels of the stress hormone cortisol.
That's according to a study published online in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
The study shows that miscarriages during the first three weeks of pregnancy were nearly three times as common among women with high cortisol levels, compared with women with normal cortisol levels.

I had a friend and she miscarried at 27, but so did a handful of other woman at her job, and all of them within around the same 2 year period or so. It was later found out that there job site (there portion of the building especially) was built on a illegal dumping site for something hazardous and thus this could have contributed. It's weird because some of those women wished to sue but I think they were discouraged from doing so for some reason and I forget what it was now.

Miscarriages are nature's way of taking care of things when something is not right. While this has always been the case, it is possible that our modern lifestyles, diets and activities mean that we are not providing an hospitable environment for a fetus, especially when it seems that a lot of people don't realize they are pregnant.

where have you seen perfectly healthy people i wonder? have you even tried to think about WHAT is in the food that people now days eat? not so many people go for all organic. so i don't think it's odd at all: life style, food, medications (birth control included), A LOT OF undiagnosed conditions in women and nature selection after all.
