you're absoloutly right.....i suffered from that pain for a long time,until i discovered the cure: that's to do the good things while NOT waiting for a reward or even a praise....now i do it for 2 reasons:
1** Good people do good things...and i want to feel that i'm good and worthy.
2** God -whatever your beliefs might be- will reward you for your good deeds...so do it for his reward....how about that?

Yes i was racing my friend in roller skating at a party and this little kid who i swear was two years old, didnt have skates on, I grabbed onto the railing on the sides and slipped at hit the wall face first, damn kid.
