I have taken up walking to lose wieght. I walk about 5-6 miles a day and have lost 2 stone (14 lbs) so instead of 17 stones i'm now 15. i recently attempted running part of my walk.. not too far though. but since then i now have a tearing pain in my chest/beast muscle. (esp when i jog up and down or jump) normal walking doesn't agrevate it. have i damaged/torn amuscle? what should i do to help it?

The pain may be muscular, but why to take risk ,Stop heavy exercises. First consult your doctor ,Get your ECG and Treadmill test done to rule out possibility of any heart problem,if nothing is found to be abnormal, then continue with your routine, All the best.

it could be a torn muscle, put any chest pain means you should see a doctor. Since it could be lung or heart related, it isn't a good idea to wait and see if it gets better or worse.

I think you have teared a muscle or sumthing like that. it might even be heartburn, not being patronsing, but sometimes people get it and dont reckon its that, when usually it is. id say go to your doc and let him sort it out. well done for getting fit though. nuff respect.

That is just muscles aggravation. If pain continues, see a doctor.
