The pain is probably from the pressure. I am going to be 34 weeks thursday and the pressure today was horrid. It hurt to sit. Try to use a bag of frozen peas and sit on it. It does help alittle with the pain. By 37 weeks, the baby is head down and maybe has dropped causing tons of pressure in your pelvis area and vaginal area. No need to worry, unless you are having more then 6 contractions in an hour. People need to realize that the baby is about 6lbs if not more by 37 weeks, it isnt going to feel good that laying on your pelvis and down below..

Sounds like the baby has dropped and is putting pressure on your nerves. I am 35 weeks and have had similar pain although not severe. The butt pain could be hemorrhoids. Call your doctor and tell her that you are concerned and that she should come up with an answer for you. Don't back down. If you are worried be adamant about being heard by your doctor.

At 37 weeks, the pain is probably from the weight of the baby and it moving around. The doctor would let you know if something serious is going on, other than that it's just normal pain. Try to keep yourself comfortable, and hang out in a swimming pool for a while. (The anti-grav effect is VERY helpful.)

More than likely, if you aren't dialating, the baby is sitting on a nerve. It's extremely painful and at this stage of your pregnancy, there's not really anywhere for baby to go. But you could try getting on your knees and lying your head on a pillow on the floor for a little while to see if baby shifts and little and relieves some of your pain.

Everyone is different, but I'm pregnant with my fourth child (almost 37 weeks), and with the experience of all of my pregnancies, I would say you are having pressure from the baby getting into position for birth towards the vaginal and pelvic area. Good luck with your new baby, and I hope you get to feeling better soon.

I had that problem my 8th month and the dr said it was just pressure from the baby. I was not dialated either. There was nothing that could be done other than being off my feet as much as possible. You still need to see what your doc says.

Talk to her about your concerns. Write down your questions so you don't forget anything. Don't let her rush you through your appointment so she can get to the next patient. This is why you PAY her!

Are you feeling pressure? Maybe baby is dropping down into your pelvis? Find out if your doc thinks the head is engaged. (Where do you feel kicks and punches and hiccups? That would help you guess baby's position.)

You could be feeling your pelvic bones speading out and loosening up.

Try doing some pelvic rocking. This will help encourage the baby to get into a good position and may aleviate some of your discomfort.

It is almost your due date, I've experienced the same when i was pregnant, and my doctor had me admitted to the hospital right away. she told me that I am having pre-mature labor pains. So she gave me some medicines to ease out my pre-mature labor pains. But in case the pain continues, i think the baby is eager to come out already. I gave birth to my youngest daughter on my 37th week of pregnancy. She was pre-mature and she had to be incubated for another two weeks. I hope this doesn't happen to you. Cause i know it will cost you a lot. Keep hanging on, and make sure to relax even though i know it is difficult. keep praying and everything will be alright. Good luck and congratulations!
