I second to that, coming from a school with uniform, it brings equality to students regardles of race, religion, or social class. Uniforms keep students from being too focus on their dressing especially if you are talking about about high school kids where the style and outlook that they want to potray to their fellow mates are important.

Yes, definitely agrees on that point, try to put religion into the argument. Singapore is a multi racial society, there are different races and religion mixed in a school. If we allow home clothes to be worn, students may start to draw lines and differentiate from each other in terms of their race or religion. Site some examples on the tudung issues that was brought up some time back as well. Study into that issues and see how u can bring up some good points for your debate, it will be useful and a strong point to put thru esp where it concerns religious harmony.

Yes. I agree too. Here are some qns you can throw to the opposite party, that will keep their mouth shut. Haha.

Qns:
1. How many inches is a skirt considered short? How tight is a t-shirt considered tight?
2. Do we want students to start competing who has the most labels?
3. Do we want to create unwanted tension and problems among school and parents?
4. How can we be sure if students are playing truant doing school hours or not, where we will not be able to different them from normal crowd?

If the OPPOSITE PARTY can answer all these questions, then kudos to them.
