grr! hate it! but i have no idea why....shame the lower leg hairs dont grow in the same rate as the upper leg, things would be much easier.....or maybe if they didnt grow at all....if only!

I know this may sound weird, but most guys have thinner thigh hair than calf hair as well. True, we don't shave it, but that's besides the point. My best guess as to why is because of friction. Pants are generally tighter around the thighs than around the calves. As the stubble grows, it can get worn down by the friction of walking.

because of the clothing worn around that part of the leg, with constant movement the hairs are worn down by contact from the close fitting garment. The lower leg comes into far less contact so wears far less.

i agree that the hairs seem thicker on the lower section of the leg. i was once told that it is because our upper thighs are constantly chaffing with out pants and that causes the hairs to thin out at the top.

Yes... it always puzzles me... again they are so much finer. Probably because women have more fat in her thighs than in the calf, if someone has the calf and the thigh looking the same either that person is having a weight problem (too heavy, too light), or it's deformed...

I have no idea. I just assumed it had something to do with the fact i don't shave the top as often as the bottom, hence why the hairs come back quicker at the bottom. Just a guess though.

Do you shave your thighs? If not then, this is why it is so much slower. You don't shave your arms (I hope not) and the hair stays the same length. If you don't shave them then they grow slower.

genetics. women aren't meant to have as much hair there as their lower legs.
