Shortly after you turn your computer on, a note will appear on the screen saying something like "press F8 for setup." It will only flash briefly, so you will have to notice it quickly. When that appears, you will have several seconds to press the appropriate button (usually del or F8); then you will enter the BIOS.

Under the first or second option in the first list, there will be an option to select boot devices. This is a list of boot devices usually including a hard drive, a floppy drive, and a CD drive. The computer will attempt to boot itself (find an operating system or OS installation) from each of these devices in order until one of them works.

Select the first item in that list, and change it to be your CD drive.

Then save and exit.

You may have to press F2 as your PC is booting to access the BIOS setup page.

Many PCs will boot from a CD automatically if a boot CD is in the drive, however.

You don't, if you mean edit as in, at a code level. Messing with Bios can be a very tricky matter. I would go with the preset wizards that guide you though the BIOS if you press F10 or a special key on boot up...

When your computer first starts up there should be something on the screen that says 'hit such and such key to edit the bios'. Just watch closely on a reboot.
