ok gone are the days of those simple pleasures the internet offered; online game, email, por*n, etc.....but now im scared of this new face of the internet thats poping up, the one were the tv/media is controled/focused by what some forty two year old says in his blog, the internet where the future movies r held from myspace, not to mention the tv show of the same, this internet an encyclopedia can warp the world using "Wikilaty", the internet that draws you in like Pee Wee Hermins Play House (Adult Swim) and Mr. Rogers Neighborhood, the very same internet that has podcast, and warp/over drives............The thing is is thats all fine, but I am scared because its becoming to adavnced, I know that this is the cyber age, but its surpassing ourselves, those leading to the world of T3, where Ro'butts communicate over the internet, scary isnt it.

hey i didnt say i was wasting time over this topic, other then the time wasted on posting this question, the internet is fasanating, but one part of me is saying "when is the next________ coming out", and another side is saying "Whoa hold on, this is just to much", just think about your favorite video game, the early years may be simple, 2D chars. but its fun, then the games of today come out and your mind is blown away when your being blown up by a gorrila fighter, and not donkey kong, then that game attaches it self to the internet as well, soon u wouldnt be able to fluch the toilet without the internet doing it for u

As the knowledge of everything that exists in our world is transferred to the internet, humans will no longer need to remember anything, for at the touch of a button we can find it. When humans beings are no longer required, we will cease to exist.

Also, here's a quote by Vernan Vinge in 1993

"Within thirty years, we will have the technological means to create superhuman intelligence. Shortly after, the human era will be ended."

To be honest, I only think you need to be scared of the internet if you begin to rely on it.

Yeah this is nice to fulfill human beings off the information superhighway as long as you have been chatting for a at an identical time as and are comfortable with them. in case you have any doubts then you definitely shouldn't pass through fact there are various unusual human beings on line too. assembly a companion on line is turning out to be a growing to be form of prevalent yet once you meet him for the 1st time be certain you tell somebody the place you're going and once you would be decrease back. i in my view does not meet this guy merely yet as you have in basic terms been chatting some days and he sounds slightly too keen, supply it a minimum of a few weeks or maybe months till now you initiate off placing as much as connect up.

It is scary; but we live in a society and nation where scary is an every day reality, Horrifying is a daily occurrence on the evening news, and terrifying happens to all of us at least once a week. My thoughts are; Yes it is OK to be scared is natural. However to let it take over your mind and time is unnatural especially if you let it keep you from living the basic life as a norm.

I don't think it's something to be scared about...maybe conscience about but not scared. There is no reason to fear something that doesn't exist yet. The Internet is meant for communicating more effectively and for entertainment...I don't see anything wrong with improving on what we already have. Imagine if we didn't improve on TVs or cars, etc.

It is normal for you to think about that. However, it is up to you whether you want to find stuff you do not want. Just put up a spam filter to block yourself from unwanted e-mail and do things that do not involve those kinds of stuff you do not want. However, one thing you cannot prevent is the spying of your actions on the net by anti-terrorist agencies though.

All about choice my dear ...if you don't like it, don't use it. The same things were said about television in the 50s. We don't seem to have descended into some horrific sci-fi movie, have we?
