I understand the basics; profanity, soliciting minors and racism. I am all for reporting people who have a blatant disregard for the aforementioned. But I am seeing people who are getting reported for sentiment that does not agree with someone else’s ideology, I have seen people reported for posting their views and not in the form of a question that was palatable, I have even seen people get reported for being to chatty. If someone is asking a question that you obviously will not like or approve, why click on it? Just ignore it and move to another question you would enjoy. Also what is the benefit or motivation to report someone and what (besides the obvious) will make you report someone else?

Well, several people whose posts I enjoy are suspended, like Kubrikian and he was usually pretty respectful and yesterday I read a question where someone’s answer said “ You are being too chatty-REPORTED!” The question was stupid and obviously a kid- I just didn’t understand the point of reporting him or her…

Reporting some one in.
Well it would have to do with.
Saying some thing to hurt some one.
Saying some thing to make people feel bad about them self's.
Saying some thing where they could get a bad Idea from.
Saying some thing about the color of some one, very bad.
Saying alot of bad word's.
Saying thing's that are, just right out bad.
Other then that,I don't know, maybe just have fun I guess.
That's what I think why people would report some one in,you?
As far as looking at what people have to say and not likeing it.
Well I am with you about just go to a different one,but people are people,so no one can stop that.
Take care.
Sharon.

I don't report those who I don't agree with. If you don't believe like I do that is your choice. But it is how you say it. For example I am a Muslim and as you can see Muslims get alot of harassment on this site. If someone asks a question about Islam or ask why don't you believe like this or that instead of like we do, I am ok with that. But if someone is nasty and rude about it and they are doing nothing but inciting violence or hatred then yes I will report them. But I will report them no matter what religion they are speaking about. Profanity or sexual content I will report if it is in my question, but usually I just pass up those question as not to take part in such filth. If it is dealing with children then yes I will always report. But I could care less if people chit chat or even if it is not a question and just their views. I basically follow the opinion if you can't say anything nice, don't say it at all. You don't have to believe like I do to say it nicely. You don't even have to like me to say it nicely.

I agree with you, just pass the question up, but anything to do with trying to date a 12 year old and stuff dealing with children, I report them.

i'll report people when i feel they have no excuse for saying what they are saying and when they blatantly break the guidelines of the site. for instance, when someone says, say being gay is a bad thing because the bible says so it's fine with me even though i don't agree with it. but when they say all gay people should be shot and are a cancer of society i'll report them because that's pure hatespeak as far as i can see it. i'll also report people looking for prostitutes and all that because that's not what this site is for.
