FIRST OFF MEN ARE NOT WOMEN,WOMEN ARE NOT MEN.
I BELIEVE THAT REAL HONESTY IS THE KEY, SAY IT LIKE IT IS. BE EACH OTHERS BEST FRIEND AND DON'T SUGAR COAT,WHAT YOU SAY CAUSE YOU THINK SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET MAD AND NOT TALK TO YOU EVER AGAIN. OWN YOUR OWN FEELINGS AND BE YOURSELF. A PERSON CAN'T KNOW YOU FOR WHO YOU ARE IF YOU DON'T LET THEM SEE YOU AS YOU TRUE LY ARE. HAVE YOUR OWN LIKES,DISLIKES AND MOST IMPORTANT GIVE EACH OTHER TRUST AND SPACE TO HAVE HOBBIES OR FAVORITE PROGRAMS. DON'T LET THINGS BUILD UP IN THE FIRST PLACE AND YOU WILL KNOW HOW TO INTERACT WITH THE OTHER HALF.IF THEY ARE NOT GOING TO TALK TO YOU ANYMORE BECAUSE YOU HAVE A DIFFERENT OUTLOOK ON SOMETHING ,THEY WERE NEVER YOUR FRIEND TO BEGIN WITH.

It isn't meant to be easy. Human beings are a complicated lot and I think our understandable attempts to categorise and pigeon-hole each other just make the whole thing more frustrating!
Every man you meet is different. He might share similarities with other men (and, indeed, you) but he is still an individual who you will have to start afresh with. Knowledge from past experience can help you but he probably won't be a convenient prototype so you'll just have to play it by ear (and eye and all the rest)...
Btw- Interesting comments but I do think some of them are spoiled by the Mars and Venus stuff tagged into them like a universal truth that must be accounted for before we can even proceed to actually look at the situation in question. Not all women are the same! Not all men are the same!
Different planets? Men are from earth. Women are from earth. Why can't we deal with that?

Let's put this in perspective, first:
Men can't understand women.
Women can't understand men.
Fair enough? Okay.
With differences so profound (biochemistry, societal demands, biology, composition, brain function, psychology, physiology), it's normal that sometimes men can't understand women, and that sometimes women can't understand men. It's just not the same universe we live in, you know?
It's like a male black widow asking a female black widow, "Hey, why is it that after sex you have to eat me?"
But being more in depth - there are several things at play. Let me give you three:
1. Knowledge of one's self: at any particular moment in time a person may not be aware of himself or herself. If this person gets into a relationship, he or she may end up taking the role of patient for a shrink. The significant other may or may not like having to "coach" this unaware specimen of a human being, and the relationship would become rocky, undirected, and quite imbalanced. One person knows himself/herself, the other one is still not sure what the heck is going on. Feelings, emotions, wants, these may still be under development, so you can't really ask too much from somebody in this situation.
2. Nurture: A person may have grown to be a jerk because that's what the person learned to become. If your goals are to be a kind, caring, honest, hard-working, professional young woman, you probably don't want to get together with somebody who grew up learning that to be #1, you have to stomp on as many people as you can on your way to the top.
3. Life Goals: put simply, you may have different goals for your life. There comes a time in every person's life when choices are made. Do I want to become a father, or not? Do I want to grow a large family, or not? Do I want to get married, or not? Do I see myself living here forever, or not? Do I care about the future or will I live "in the flow" for the rest of my life instead of directing my life to possible and honest, decent goals, or not?

well,all men need is a little bit of maturity in his woman and the rest follows!!
and don't worry about being different from men cos you can never be like them and they can never be like women,cos men are from mars and women from Venus!!2 complete different planets!!
all you can do to get into his heart is make him feel the best,appreciate him for all that he does for you and the family!!
compare him with others and tell him how he is the best amongst all!!
pamper him and pamper him like a baby and cook him a nice meal and see how he comes running to you!!

guys are dumb and confusing! i think guys love a chase! a little excitement. (even int he bedroom) something to keep them guessing and on their toes! thats how i am...and my man loves it! he calls me "crazy" but he says thats what he loves about me. i didnt alwayz use to be like that! i was the type to do whatever they said...and call him...and everything...when i got in this relationship i had to change if i wanted it to work. you cant be too vulnerable. i understand u want to please him but if you how him he can run over you then he will. stand up and be ur own person. now some guys are different...some might not like this....espeically an old fashion country guy...but i think its fun to keep eachother guessing, me and my bf have so much FUN! but girls are just as confusing! it just really depends on the guy!

with me i look for a woman with a good personality. its one of the mysteries of the world, where a lot of times men and women dont understand each other.
