The Massachusetts Institute of Technology is not in Chicago.

Their Economics Department is one of the highest ranked departments in the world. They are unlikely to accept anyone going for a master's degree. In fact, all of the top economics departments are only going to be interested in PhD students. If all you want is a master's degree -- you will have to settle for a mediocre school

If you are looking for a degree that will get you a good job, I would suggest an MBA at a top school rather than a MS in a mediocre school. Most of the top MBA programs allow joint master's degrees in other fields.

Try MIT for information that is the best technical university of the u.s. I heard but they also do MBA's - so maybe you can major in economics there too.

I think it is in chicago??? Not sure
