country, (U.S.A.) then why it is that the minute something happens like it is now happening in Cuba, would you want to go back to a third-world country and again struggle as you had in the past? I mean, you came here to make a better life for your family and/or you, why go back to sturggle instead of giving this country the same respect it gave to you by opening their doors to you.

I am hispanic so i am very curious on how other's feel

i honestly would not go back. my parents were from cuba but i was born in spain. when i came to this country as a child, the U.S. has become my second home. I have gone to school, work, settled down and planted my own roots here. I probably would go for vacation a few years from now, once i know the island is in no more danger, but to live there. not me.

Because some people do not lose their culture as they move from a bad area to a nice one. They still feel like their home shouldnt be that way and its a noble thing to feel that way. It's sort of like asking why do rich people go back to their old neighborhood and pour money into youth projects in a crime ridden city. Its' not disrespectful to come to this country make a life and attempt to better your own country. This country is founded by immigrants, it speaks volumes that this country is that prosperous that it can help others around it. Immigrants from Mexico support Mexico's economy. In other words the people who travel from Mexico to make a better life here send so much money back to Mexico that if they stopped it would cripple the Mexican economy.

I am Jamaican but I was born here and I still am intrigued about my roots and my history.

The bottom line none of us born in this country are from this country unless you are an Indian. This country is but one dimension of the majority of Americans' history.

The hispanic' history is so rich you should even look into it you'd be surprised.

The question should be this with all the great things historically people of your background have done why not look back and understand how you got to where you are? Answer that one and im sure you can then understand why people go back.

Many immigrants come here just long enough to make/save enough money to make life back home easier. Most people are only truly happy in the culture they were born in.
