I am having a problem with my flat grid drain in my vessel sink in the washroom.?

My sink has no overflow so when the water drains it goes down very slowly. I was told if I changed the existing sink drain which has 18 small holes, to a drain which has 16 larger holes, it would help the water evacuate better. anyone have a clue if this is true? Or even what other options do i have. Changing the sink is not an option.

Try thrift super-pro acid it has sulfuric acid in it, dont spill!!
