The liberals have perpetrated countless lies and distortions concerning President Bush and his record in the last five years--practically every time they open ther mouths, it's to slander him or someone in his Administration. And yet, not one man or woman surrounding him has stood up to defend him forcefully, least of all Bush himself.

I noticed the same thing during the Clinton years; even though the attacks on him were generally on the mark, the people who should have been his biggest defenders stuck their heads in the sand.

What is it? Lack of loyalty? Selfishness? Spinelessness? I really want to know.

perhaps they are rising above the name-calling. I personally don't want my president to waste his time with that crap. He has better things he should be doing.

Bush is the most liberal president in US history. You can judge liberal or conservative by taking a look at the national debt and the use of national resources. The US Army is just about used up and worn out and we will never ever pay off the national debt. All, all of the Army's equipment must be replaced. The gulf coast had a terrible time, but the money thrown away down there is and was an even greater loss. It goes on and on, but Bush the liberal, has been the one who has perpetrated countless lies and distortions. Practically every time he open his mouth, it will be a lie or distortion. God Bless America ... we need all the help we can get.

Presidents don't have to do a thing.

And defend himself ? Piffle. That would be a political disadvantage.

It's all water off a duck's back you know.

Then if things get tough I imagine some officlias will berate the naysayer.

One thing I've noticed all CIC's except maybe Clinton are visibly drained and aged by the job. Imagine being awakened at 3:00 AM by an aide with news that some mule in some faraway two bit country is causing havock in his neighborhood. I'll bet it happens a lot, due to differing time zones.

Clinto OTOH was the primal Bubba, nothing ever touched him, well...perhaps interns come to think of it, when he was ministering to them, her, she, he, or whatever.

I've wondered the same thing, I believe W knows it would really serve no purpose to "defend" himself and in doing so, could allow info that we have to become known and used to hurt the US. W's known about the found WMD's for 2-3 years but kept the documents classified to help protect servicemen and the US, it took a lot IMO for him to do that.

I think it may be the "can of worms" theory. Each administration you asked about probably does not want to fire back because it would just turn into a finger pointing, pissing contest that would never end and distract each administration from their respective jobs.

Probably because Bush is a crook and they know it. I know I wouldn't want to back a coke snorting, immoral, alcoholic. Even if I worked for him.
