The media-created "International Community" feels strongly that that Israel should cease fire IMMEDIATELY and return to base.

The US says "no," not just yet... thereby encouraging Israel to go for it.

Many in the 'International Community' are buddy-buddy with Syria and Iran (more common enemies); and view the US as a Bobby Fischer in the godforsaken region.

It is because the Israelies and the Arabs have been fightling like this since they were concieved. They are both actually cousins of one another, but Israel is just more like likely to have some European in it's bloodline so they sort of look like some Americans. (Examples: Jerry Springer, Howard Stern) But that doesn't change the fact that the Israelies and Arabs are what is known as semites. Apparently the United States has supplied Israel with weapons that they use when the Arabs see their people get killed. I figure they are probably highly bitter about his fact. The United States has Jewish people in many many places on it's goverment, but you hardly even know it becauses going back to what I said- The Jewsish people have alot of different mixtures in their bloodline. But of course, I guess anyone would be loyal to their roots, so I can't blame jews for supporting their own people.
I've done a crash course study in history the past 3 months. I decided to study world history from all sides of the story, instead of just one. And no, I don't support or study the arabs. But I do believe they should be left alone. They are not tht strong and really any strikes they make are more like a pimple outbreak rather than a tumor.
Seriously though, I highly recommend you use your computer to type in key words and study history from all angles of the spectrum and I promise you'll understand a little better.
Hope this helps.

Because both countries accuse other countries of being terrorists sympthasizers, when neither of them are right. Iraq has had no ties with Al-qaeda until after the US ousted Saddam and Hezbollah is not a terrorist organization they are a resistance movement. They come from unbelievably poor shiite muslim community in Lebanon and they took up arms only because Israel was moving into Lebanses terreratories. Israel started this mess. They have captured thousands of people from lebanon and palestine over the last 5 years and planning this attack on lebanon for just as long. The two soldiers are posterboys for this war and its sad they are using them the way they are. Hezbollah has requested a ceasefire on the grounds of an exchange between prisoners. Israel and the US have both declined.

Because at the end of the day, the US is one of the worlds biggest protagionisers and the only hyperpower or superpower around and still not everybody wants to agree with you. Shock Horror! They might even actually think something different to the US..

(and in case you couldnt tell, I was being sarcastic)

Perhaps the rest of the world can see the suffering that the innocent people of Lebanon are being put through, whereas the US media just whitewashes that and shows disproportionate amounts of Israeli civilians being killed. Open up your eyes a little and you may see why the US is coming under such fire.

You're really have to be an idiot if you cant understand that there is another side to this conflict.

Because Israel asked for 12 more days of bombing before they begin negotiations, and the US accepted this. Because the US tells everyone that they are going to war for democracy and freedom, and then when a country elects a leader democratically, the US goes back in and tells them they elected the wrong people. Because the US dumps money into Israel, so the US couldn't possibly be seen as neutral. And because the US basically spit in the face of the international community when they invaded Iraq.

you really want to know:
Because of Israeli refusal to end its occupation according to the UN 242 resolution and Israel want to keep Palestinian land that was never part of Israel.
Against the USA due to the Israeli lobby policy in congress.
The Israeli lobby was able and is able to put Israel interests above the USA interests in the Middle East. Read this qutation from an Israeli leader:
"Every time we do something you tell me America will do this and will do that . . . I want to tell you something very clear: Don't worry about American pressure on Israel. We, the Jewish people, control America, and the Americans know it." -- Ariel Sharon to Shimon Peres, October 3rd, 2001, as reported on Kol Yisrael

The path to righteousness is straight and narrow and apparently lonely. Broad and winding is the path to wretchidness and apparently crowded.
