race- biological ancestry

ethnicity- cultural heritage

These are terms, not to be confused with the superiority of one race over the other, or subjection, which many comments have made. You can have ethnic pride without being racist. Just like a Christian can outwardly support Jesus, but still respect Islam, Judiasm, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc.
