Heath Ledger has just been announced as the next Joker, wondering how other people feel about this :)

I think Heath can do it but I think we are going to young with the villans. I was thinking of them using a more seasoned actor. Thats the same way I'd feel about Ryan Phillipee playing two-face if that is even a possibility.

Although I still agree with someone who said that Jessica Alba would make a good Harley Quinn.

the_bat_freak You're right I totally forgot that this is a different "series" of batman with younger villans. He may be awsome, I just never even considered him. I really hope they do Harley and have the sequal be as good as the 1st one!

I'm all for it. He's a versatile actor. He played the new kid/slacker in "10 Things I Hate About You", a young soldier in "The Patriot" (I was shocked when I figured out it was the same actor in both), and of course his recent role in "Brokeback Mountian."

Seems like he can assume any role, and we certainly can't have Jack come back as the "young" Joker.

It's a good choice.

A lot of people said the same thing about Jack Nicholson.

He's a good actor. I think he'll do great. Some people suggested Will Ferrel or Jim Carey, but I don't think so. After seeing Jim Carrey as the riddler, there's no way I would allow him to ruin another Batman flick.

the joker in the new "the batman" cartoon is agile and can match batman toe to toe. i think the making of a younger version of the joker is in order. and heath ledger is just right for the job if you're to be believed. yaay!

I'm not too familiar with him, but it's a good choice. If someone like Robin Williams or Jim Carrey was picked then we'd be looking at them instead of their character. Plus, either one of them would be annoying.

Nicholson was a ham. We weren't watching the Joker, we were watching Jack do a parody of Jack.

This is the first that I've heard about it. I'm not sure, I guess it would depend on just how insane he can act. I haven't seen him in any role anything similar to that. But I guess if you can act gay without actually BEING gay, maybe you can do the Joker.

Jack Nicholson does the altimate Joker. He was the the best Joker in the first batman. I don't think no one can do it better than him. He got the kinna smile/lip chapes for it.

well he's a very talented and versatile actor. who knows he may bring something unique and interesting in his portrayal as the joker (maybe a hunky joker?)

now, what do you think of ryan philippe as two-face?

He has a big mouth but that's about it. I can't see him crazy like the Joker.

He's too cute to be the joker, but he does voices and masks his accent very well...

doesn't match the joker.......he has to fill in for Jack Nicholson, and it is extremely hard to fill in that role after Jack.
