No theory of cosmology/cosmogeny postulates that there ever was nothing. For the entire length of time, the universe has existed (though at t=0 it was a singularity).

However, let's put that aside for a second. If there really was nothing, nomatter, no universe. Then there can be no rules that govern what does or does not happen. As such, something appearing is quite unremarkable.

I think its einstein who theorized that matter can neither be created nor destroyed totally. That makes me think that in order for there to be nothing then there would have to be "something" to give it something and that "something" would have powers to create matter so thats kind of my idea on it...I also kind of wonder if it wasnt for carbon dating minerals and rocks on earth how we can even begin to guess the age of the universe. I mean man has only about 8000 years of recorded history and beyond that your delving into oral traditions and myths about what was going on back then so to speculate about the origin of how everything came to be it seems more likely that there has always been something existing in the infinite vaccum of space.

I don't think the word "nothing" in the Bible can be interpreted in a schientific manner, let's not forget when this book was first drafted.

It was not by accident. It would be impossible to have an accident of such magnitude. The only explanation is, that it was an act of creation.
