I have a freeview box and I can record the channel that I am watching, which seems a bit stupid really. I asked at Currys and they said I needed a seperate freeview box for the video. Then I could record one channel, when watching another channel through the other box connected to the tv.
I also have a twin tuner tv and video combi with a freeview box attached, seems really stupid that I can not use the video now.

If it's like the one my mum's got, set your video to the channel that you use for the freebox, possibly AV1 or AV2 and then change the freebox to the channel you want to record. You cannot record from more than one channel this way but you can use the timer program. This works if you have the aerial connected to the freeview box and then a cable connecting the freeview box to your video and another cable from the video to the television.

You can't, as the video recorder in analog signal and Freeview box is digital. You can buy a digital recorder in an large electrical store around £100-£150. However I suggest you buy a dvd recorder with a hard drive 80gb these are slightly more expensive howevr you don't have to buy disc's all the time. You can connect your Freeview box to this and record away.
This is the answer you require, all the best.

Connect your free view box using the scart sockets on the back of your VCR you might need a scart cable if you don't have one and switch to the av channels no need to tune it in

Don't think you can do it unless you have digital recorder.
