Trane, Carrier then York in that order of reliability and general pricing.
Since I am not sure what the age of your furnace is, I cannot give recommendation if you should replace that as well. Many times, it is cheaper in the long run to change out all of them at one time.
Especially if the evaporative coil and pan on the new A/C unit are not compatible (won't fit) with the furnace.
I would also suggest not skimping on the size of your A/C unit, even if you do keep it on low. A three BR home is generally 1800 to 2500 sq. feet and will need about a 4 to 5 ton unit. Avoid extended warranties.
Go with a company that you feel comfortable with and treats you as important as you are. They will always be great to deal with in the future as well.

Don't buy a York, I use to work for them their a piece of crap. The best would be a Trane, they come with a 10 year parts and labor warranty. Remember you should probably change the furnace at the same time, if its also old. One other thing 1 ton of A/C = about 500 sq/ft.
Example 2000 sq/ft home would use a 4 ton A/C unit

a Rhemn is one of the best. Its quality is of high standard, and it offers energy saving units as well. The price is not bad, but that all depends on how you feel about paying for something of value, you get what you pay for.. :0)
