It's a tie between two items from my grandmother. A porcelain cat and mouse; the mouse is cleaning it's tail while the cat looks down at it with a "yum! dinner!" look on his face. When I was very young and went to visit her in England, I said "oh! they are so cute!" Now I am grown and recently married. My grandmother's health is failing, and the last time my mother went to visit her, she sent this home for me.
The other item are the dessert spoons my great-grandmother gave to my grandmother as a wedding gift. They are now a sort of family heirloom.
Each time I look at these items I think of grandma and how much I miss her, and she's not even gone yet...

I take it you're talking about a material thing, so that would have to be my violin, my dad found it when I was young at a flea market, turns out it's a really well made Roth, worth quite a bit, and I've been playing it for like 25 yrs.

My voters registration card, my library card and my drivers license. I value my freedom. Everything else is optional, negotiable or attainable but freedom is elusive.
