I wouldnt consider that a problem. I changed my major 3 times. Some people dont knw until their 2nd or 3rd year. When you get to school change your major to Undeclared. That way you wont through your credits or hours off when you do decide to major in something. Try a couple different classes, talk to your advisor when you get tehre, and if your school has one drop in at the career services office.
Dont stress about it. you have alot of time yet, and it might be something totally different from bus. admin.
Just go in undeclared before you do anything else.

There may not need to be a rush to declare your major. Often when just starting college, there are many "core" courses that all freshmen must take. You could focus on just taking those classes while getting adjusted to the college life and seeing where your interests lead you, if anywhere. This may result in you having to take classes in the summer to graduate within your chosen major in four years, but you can always stretch your degree pursuit out to five years if you wish...many people do.
Perhaps a more appropriate question would be "What do you want to be when you grow up?" You may be undecided, which is why you haven't figured out what you want to major in. But usually, what career you see yourself in after college will determine your major. Want to run your own business? Then majoring in business administration, marketing or the like may be just what you are looking for.
I'd suggest going to speak to an advisor at the school and asking about different majors and the career paths they lead you to. Investigate the course catalog and see what classes go along with certain majors. Keep in mind that some majors like art and history will be much less likely to lead to a career in that field rather than a business or science oriented one will. Good Luck!

I recommend that you do not major in Business Administration because it is too broad. Meaning, you should major in something more concentrated/specific. However, I believe you should take some time to find out exactly what you want to do. What interests you? What do you like? I assume you are starting school this month; therefore, do not declare a major until you know exactly what you want to do. Most universities you do not have to declare a major until your junior year. In addition, think about what you want your end result to be. For instance, do you want to make over six-figures? If so, do a little research on all the areas which interests you and find out on average how many year it will take to make six-figures in that particular field. Visit www.salary.com. That website is excellent...very informative. I wish you much luck in your endeavors. If you would like to chat in greater detail, feel free to IM me on yahoo...highly_motivate.

Why dont you go in as undecided and when you get there and take a few classes decide what you want to major in. When I was in college I changed my major 5 times. You dont know going in right off the bat ... you kinda have to test the waters first.

When you first start college, you don't have to declare a major. Just take various general courses. Wait till the end of your first semester, then declare your major.
Take time to decide. Let your interests and studies steer you toward what you like.
You can't just sit down and think 'gee, what do I want to be?
What do I like?' It doesn't work that way.
When I went to Rutgers, I declared my major after my first semester.
Be patient and good luck!

college is not about what you WANT to do its about what you DONT want to do. your first two years should be about exploring. dont worry about making it out of college in 4 years thats ridiculous. Leaving college 4 years is like leaving the party at 10 PM. Before you get out make sure you know what you want. make a plan for the FUTRE because in 4-6 the world is going to look different and markets and technologies will change and that can change you wants. ALSO do internships to find out whats jobs that you think you want are reallly like, dont take then too seriously because they are for expreimental purposes only.
ok thats all

Take a variety of courses in the first year. You will find the ones you enjoy and that will help you find a career. I would make sure you take courses in the basics such as math, english, and science, but also business, art, and any other area you think you might be interested in.

The hottest major now seems to be Medical Physics. I know a friend who is getting paid to go to college by the university to be a Medical Physicist.

Hi there,
Have you had a chance to talk to a career advisor. I am sure such an advisor will help direct you to something you are interested in doing. Remember, you are not going to walk out content the first time you meet with an advisor. It may take a few sessions.
Good luck.

that was a big problem to me too, so i tried to find something something i was good at ....... and i' d found it, it was one of thing that i liked but not the best thing i could do becouse there were many reasons i 've chosen it ,such as career oppotunity, economic, work asmosphere( in real job ). You mignt want to think about this reasons too
so what am i trying to say is ..find something you're good at if you think you can do it ,love it,go for it . Think about careers that is possibly related to that major and then think that do you like it ?do you want to work in this kind of work? . Look back in your family what do they do?and do you like it? someone chose to major in subject that could gain their ability for family bussinet or something like that....Find out what kind of person are you , creative, thinker, planner, or logical etc... do you like to work alone or work with a group ? ......then find subject or career which are suitable for you .........
other reasons that might be important , or you might think its not big deal but i tell you just in case Ex , career oppotunity, earning income , health problem , time of work
try this website it's fun and educative , test to find out your personality ......
http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/humanbody/mind/surveys/careers/
the decision ,that I've made , was a combination of many things so you need time to think
one thing , not everybody work in the same field of their college knowledge . Life learning can change your openion all the time so do the best now and open for everything outside , sometime i learn that the real world out side the college is the key to success . College is just the good beginning
