I have used Chanel eye shadows for years.. (They stay on all day and you don't need to re-apply) They also have nice base colors and foundations
For Blush I have used Bobbi Brown and the Chanel eye shadows as blush (Bobbi Brown is more like a bronzer)
Lancome Lip gloss works great for me, by itself or with lipstick (it comes in sets of four or you can purchase them individually)
They also have this great eye shadow called drama I always get compliments when wearing it.
Make-up will also depend on your skin type and how it's absorbed, also your skin color...
MAC has a great selection of all, I did not have much luck with their make up, the only thing that I use is their pigment eye shadow which is great and lasts forever....
Try passing by a department store that carrys these brands and have them apply some on your skin...try different colors and types and see what would make you look better and feel comfortable wearing.

It depends on what product I'm after. For foundations I like Dior, Clinique and Estée Lauder best. When it comes to mascara, I'm usually not willing to dish out a lot of money so I just buy one that's a little cheaper. I usually switch each time I need a new one. For everything else: M.A.C. I love their eyeshadows. They are very pigmented and they have a great selection. Plus, they do not test on animals! I also love their lipglasses, lustreglasses, and lipsticks. However, I don't really like their foundations. But that's just a personal choice. It's not that their foundations are bad, I just prefer to get my foundations from the companies mentioned above.

I have used Clinique since I was 12 (I won't tell you how old I am now, but it's been quite a few years!) and I have had wonderful results. Not only can the consultants make suggestions, but I can try things on at the counter to find what I like best.
It's also Allergy Tested (a step beyond hypo-allergenic), Dermatologist Created and 100% Fragrance Free. I had horrible skin as an early teen and now I get complimented frequently about my skin. I not only cleared up my complexion, but I have no scaring and look much younger than my actual age.
Hope this helps....Good Luck!

I started off using nothing but clinique, but now use a mixture of brands. Max Factor for longlasting lipstick and mascara, No 7 for eyeshadow, foundation, and lipstick, and recently Natural Collection for eyeliners and shadows.

OK, this is a problem. What ethnicity are you If you are white, then the make up brand possibilities are endless. Most of my friends wear maybelline (even I use it) and revlon. However if you are black then the make up brand that I wear that has a lot of variety is black opal and fashion fair. They are really good. You may have to buy two or three foundations to mix and make skin tones eben and one for the winter. Hope that this helps

I think CHANEL has the best foundation and powder. NARS has the best eyeshadow and blush. BENEFIT's Bad Gal liner and Cover Girl's Lash Exact is a combo that is absolutely unbeatable! Clinique has the best lipsticks and glosses.

Maybelline make great lipstick in that Superstay lipstick. It does exactly what it says on the box and stays on for aaaages. They also do good foundation.
For everything else I'd have to go with Urban Decay. It can get pretty pricey but the makeup lasts for ages and you can wear it in a variety or ways. Wear it dry for subtle daytime shades and colours, or wet your brush for really vibrant colours which you can mix for fantastic glam rock eyes! Yeah, I love Urban Decay :)
