Think of it this way: There are 30 1's in 30. There are 60 halves in 30. Or money...$30 is 30 $1 bills. It's also 60 half-dollars.

Because 1/2<1. by the same token if you divide 30 by 2 (which is greater than 1, you'll get 15 which is smaller than 30

30 / (1/2) = 30 x (2/1)
= 60
when you divide by a fraction, the operation changes to multiplication and the fraction flips. in this case it flips from 1/2 to 2/1.
so thats how you get 60!
have fun with math!

fractions are division. 30 divided by one is how many times one will divide into 30. 30 divided by 1/2 is how many times 1/2 will divide into 30, which is more because 1/2 is smaller.

Because you divide by 1 and multiply with 2. When you divide 30 by 1 you get 30. When you multiply 30 with 2 you get 60.
30 / (1/2) = (30 x 2) / 1
Hope this helps.

bcoz it will be 30/1/2 which will become as 30*2/1 as there is two division symbol, to delete one division symbol, the 2 will come up & get multiplied with 30.therefore 30/1/2 is 60 which is the result of 30*2/1=60/1=60.
