Oldham is within the political administrative area of Greater Manchester, although this is not really classified as a county in the traditional sense.. as both Manchester and Oldham are within the county of Lancashire.

I AM SURE OLDHAM IS IN GREATER MANCHESTER AND NOT LANCASHIRE LIKE BOLTON IS IN GREATER MANCHESTER ETC

Greater Manchester, my grandparents live there, It used to be part of LANCASHIRE but is now definitely GR Manchester.
