Having watched the Casino Royale trailer it looks like a bad Bourne Identity clone.
And as they changed around the history of Bond so much (he how comes from the SAS not Royal Navy intelligence plus he’s blonde and ugly) should this be a real Bond movie?
Will you be going to watch it?

Don't get me wrong Craig is a good actor.
Layer Cake is a great film.
He just isn't Bond.
Why didn't they go for Clive Owen he looks the part and he's a great actor.

Bond's career is a reflection of Ian Fleming's as in:
In 1939, on the eve of World War II, Rear Admiral John Godfrey, Director of Naval Intelligence of the Royal Navy, recruited Fleming (who at the time held the rank of reserve subaltern in the Black Watch) as personal assistant. i agree. daniel craig can't match the standards set by pierce brosnan in the bond movies. james bond's afterall not blonde.

I always thought he was special forces trained, thats why he wears the kind of upside down 'wings' on his uniform to donate that he is SBS/ SAS trained. Thats was my opinion, of course lets be honest you do propably get ex Naval ranks who decide to join the UK special forces and then when they retire after 22 years it is quite possible that certain security forces employ them after all they do have alot of expierience.
I agree with the other bloke - the last good Bond film was Goldeneye. Pierce Brosnan was only an 'alright' Bond. The last lot of Bond films had far to many gadgets. My favorite Bond film is Octupussy. Which relies on very little gadgets and more on Bonds wits. Which is how it should be. Lets hope the new film is less gadget orientated and give Daniel Craig a chance. He is a good actor. He was good in Road to Perdition, he was good in Layer Cake. Give the man a chance.

This movie is gonna be the end of the Bond series. They casted the totally wrong guy for this. For a long time they had a better person to play him...Julian McMahhon or whatever from Nip/Tuck and the Fantastic 4. I think he would have been a much better Bond. As for the story, it's about Bond's first mission with M16. It will dig deep into his personal life before he was a super spy which really takes away from the character.

Considering that the first time they did "Casino Royale" that it is not included in the pantheon of Bond films, this comes from the same company.
I was hoping it would be really low-tech, as they were treating it as a past film.
Besides, trailers are nortorioulsy flippy. A bad trailer does not necessarily mean a bad film.

I was reluctant at 1st about this Daniel Craig guy, but after watching the trailer, I think this will be the best bond in a while.
It seems more film noir

Casino royale is a proper bond story written by Ian Flemming, actually it was the first bond story he wrote!

i think craig is a good choice, making him ex sas even better, bond is now in the 21st century not 1966, to many bond films totally unreal, i think this one could be the best in years
