haha, me! only finished in June with the crap books. i thought i was such a geek as well but glad to hear other people are doing it too. i read the jacqueline wilson books just to finish the list but they're AWFUL. the hardest things to read were War and Peace, Crime and Punishment, The Count of Monte Cristo, Ulysses and a couple of the very much older books which I wouldn't have picked up immediately. It did introduce me to lots of books I've meant to read for ages and also forced me to read all the classics and Harry Potter which I'd avoided. I also hate Jane Austen, but felt I had to read them. It's well worth doing, but by no means did I agree with the list at all. I would have changed about half of it.
I really enjoyed rereading Philip Pullman again, GG Marquez and also some of the other modern novels which made the list like Donna Tartt and Arundhati Roy.
It's best to be a library member if you're going to try! It would cost a bunch to buy them all :D

So far in my lifetime, I've read:
2. Pride and Prejudice
5. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (how did that get to be #5!)
6. To Kill a Mockingbird
7. Winnie the Pooh
8. Nineteen Eighty-Four
9. The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
10. Jane Eyre
12. Wuthering Heights
17. Great Expectations
18. Little Women
21. Gone With the Wind
22. Henry Potter and the (Sorcerer's) Stone
23. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
24. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
30. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
33. The Pillars of the Earth
36. Treasure Island
38. Persuasion
40. Emma
41. Anne of Green Gables
43. The Great Gatsby
46. Animal Farm
47. A Christmas Carol
51. The Secret Garden
62. Memoirs of a Geisha
63. A Tale of Two Cities
70. Lord of the Flies
74. Matilda
75. Bridget Jones's Diary
82. I Capture the Castle
95. Katherine
That's 31, and among them are some of my all-time favorites ("Katherine," "Anne of Green Gables," "Memoirs of a Geisha," "A Tale of Two Cities" and all the Jane Austen) Some of my other favorites ("Les Miserables" by Victor Hugo, "The Good Earth" by Pearl S. Buck and "Outlander" by Diana Gabaldon) are mysteriously absent. Others on that list I have no intention of ever reading.
I don't think the list should be taken as the be-all and end-all of what every person must read. It's a little top-heavy on Harry Potter for that.

I have just gone down the list and I have read about 65 of them, although not because they are on the list. Some were required reading at School, College and University. Some of the books I really can not see me reading though. Tracy Beaker perhaps when I have a daughter of my own.
My favourtite books are Gone With the Wind, any by John Stienbeck, and the other favourites suchas Dickens and Jane Austen.

I've read 23 of them, but I'm only 16 so I've got plenty of time to get through them all. There are some great books missed out on that list, I'm starting crime and punishment and to kill a mocking bird just now but I'm just finishing a picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde just now.

I have read about half the list - not in the order listed. But I know that there are some books that will never be read by me unless one of my girls reads it.
