with a can of air would be the best or a static sensitive vac designed for computers. Most keyboards on laptops do come off but vary in the number or screws and parts required to take them off. If you actually need to clean a spill or something then suggest damp cloth. Usually the keys themselves do not come off.

Donot use any kind of liquid. A can of compressed air is good. If layers of dust is deposited on the key , then use a very small amount of windex or any glass cleaner in a piece of clothing and just wipe the dust of soflty.Just remember that no liquid better not get under the keyboard.

tip it upside down, make sure it is turned off. and tap it that will get some dust particles out of it adn any crumbs.
or you could use canned air, this way it will get everything out from underneath the keys, cloths wont really help as there will be trapped dirt underneath the keyboard that will build up an cause problems in the future
good luck
plz dont listen to the pratt that just said put it in the dishwasher

Use a can of forced air to blow particles from between the keys. Then go over the keys with a cloth slightly dampened with rubbing alcohol.

You can buy dry air in an aeresol can that works for the dust. If your problem is spilled soda or coffee, you'll have to have it cleaned by a professional.

If you need to get beneath the keys... they pop out and pop right back in. Use something flat and plastic to pop them out. You can use a metal screw driver, but it may dent or mar the plastic keys. An air can to remove the dust, and some isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) to remove stains and oils.

Those things are indestructible!!! Just place it in the dishwasher.
Set it on light load. Run. It will look like new and depending on your detergent will smell fresh and clean.
